Where to Stay in Seoul

Seoul is split by the Han River, with most first-time visitors staying on the north side near the old royal core (City Hall, Insadong, Myeongdong) or in the youthful western districts of Hongdae, while Gangnam and Jamsil offer a more modern south-side base. Airport rail and limousine buses connect Incheon to all of these areas, so the choice is mostly about whether you want dense sightseeing, nightlife, or a quieter upscale stay.
